Sweet, Gentle, Affectionate
There are no words to express just how gentle little Forelle is. But we're going to try! She loves affection, and will often "demand" it by leaning her head against you. And she gives the best, most enthusiastic head bonks! She also likes vigorous cheek scratches and warm snuggles with her people.
Forelle likes to play - but she is known to abandon playtime if head pats are offered!
Also, we don't want to brag (yes we do), but we think Forelle is a bit of a genius! She high-fives. Yep, she does, check out the video!
Forelle came to APA! with profoundly weak back legs; she's not paralyzed, so we are hopeful as she recovers from her unknown previous trauma that she will walk again. She is receiving physical therapy and her mobility continues to improve!
Whatever injury caused the weak muscle tone in her back legs also caused urinary incontinence, so she requires manual expression (gently pressing on her bladder to help her "go"). She can sometimes go on her own, so we are hopeful that this will get better over time, too!
Forelle has a bit of a wobbly, prancy walk, but it doesn't slow her down from coming to you for some love and affection!
Forelle was great with her kitty roommates in the shelter, and eventually would follow them around, rub on them, and snooze with them. Now that she's in her foster home, she coexists peacefully with another cat.
Forelle likes to hide in small spaces, and would do great with a cat tower that has an enclosure for her to hang out in. She's a quiet girl, and makes a soft "ooo" noise sometimes.
Sweet and friendly Forelle would love a laid-back, quiet home with people who spend time with her and give her scratches - and treats! Her human should be able to continue her PT so that she will steadily get stronger. She is inspired by affection, play, and by being curious about everything; she embodies "motivation!" We are encouraged by her progress and have high hopes for her!
