Curious, Friendly, Resilient

Beautiful little Butterfly is curious about and very friendly with people! She loves to be pet, and she interacts well with kids. She's fascinated with wand toys and is trying to figure out how to play with them. That's a bit of a challenge because her back legs don't work very well, but she's clearly looking at it like a puzzle that she can and will solve!

Butterfly came to us with hyper-extended back legs. She's getting some simple physical therapy to see if it can help her regain some ability to use her back legs, but we don't yet know if it will help. She's incontinent and not able to pee on her own so she requires some extra medical care, which may include a regulated diet and/or manual expression. Expressing her is quick and easy to do, and APA! will teach you how. She seems to think of it as some kind of special spa massage, and she doesn't mind it at all. For more information, please contact APA!

Butterfly is besties with her enclosure mate Spark Plug (111075), an adorable orange kitten the same age who has paralyzed back legs. They're so darling together, scooting around like two furry little seals playing. They also like to snuggle together.

It's so inspiring to watch them because they don't seem to know or care that they're different. They're just two happy kittens, playing together and soaking up all the human love and attention they can get. They would be great forever companions because they can play and interact on a level playing field, so to speak.

If you're looking for an inspiring new fur angel or two, contact us today to arrange a meet-and-greet!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
