Spunky, Curious, Full of Love
Just like Rapunzel in the Disney movie Tangled, this Rapunzel is a curious soul full of energy! Rapunzel can play continuously for more than an hour without batting an eyelash; she appears to never run out of a supply of energy. She prefers swatting and pouncing after string toys with a feather at the end. However, you could pick up any toy and Rapunzel will instantly be in play mode. For example, she will gladly chase after a ball or leap in and out of a box. Rapunzel will also act as free pest control and hunt down any bugs trespassing into the home.
When she is not playing, Rapunzel is being sweet and affectionate. In the mornings she will greet you and cuddle by your head. If you have a window by your front door, Rapunzel will gladly welcome you home. If it is cold weather, she will ask to lift the blanket so she can snuggle around your arms. She will follow you around the house, guard you in the shower, and watch you cook in the kitchen. Rapunzel enjoys slow chin, neck, and head scratches.
Rapunzel's spunk makes her simultaneously entertaining with a touch of chaos. Her desire to play has sometimes led to overly-enthusiastic behavior. She has shown significant improvement in her ability to play in a kind and gentle manner, thanks to the kind and gentle training she has received in her foster home! Accommodations, such as preventing crowded foot traffic in the home, have also proven to be effective in helping Rapunzel resist being playfully aggressive. Similarly, keeping her food bowl in an open area helps prevent her from knocking things off the counter when she wants attention. We think that Rapunzel would do best in a home that has previously had a feline family member.
Rapunzel may not get along with other feline friends, but she has done well around dogs and kids. A slow and patient introduction is crucial for helping Rapunzel establish a healthy relationship with the dogs in her forever home. When it comes to guests, Rapunzel is a star. She is super friendly and ready to greet everyone. Rapunzel is not a companion for small children due to how aggressively she can play.

Rapunzel has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Rapunzel can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
