Adorable, Affectionate, Biscuit Maker
Winged Victory of Samothrace - called "Victory" - is an affectionate and sweet girl who knows that the greatest thing in the world is to love and be loved. And she is big on showing her love with lots of headbutts, head rubs - and biscuits! When we say "biscuits", we mean lots of biscuits, all the time making biscuits, air biscuits, happy biscuits, and even more biscuits! They're kind of her jam.
Once she feels comfortable with you, she'll curl up next to you and purr. Looking into her beautiful green eyes, it's impossible not to fall in love with her!
With so much love to give, Victory can become overstimulated. This may lead to her nipping/biting, but she is doing a great job learning to redirect her energy to her catnip toy. Because she is still learning how to manage this, she is looking for patient humans - adults and young adults - who can continue to gently work with her so she can be her best self. She likely would not be a good companion for a child who can't understand her body language.
Victory came to APA! with bladder stones, which were removed; she needs to stay on a prescription cat food for urinary tract health. She also has a history of seizures, so she takes a preventative medication in her food - and she hasn't had a seizure in a very long time! She is easy-peasy.
Victory loves her catnip toy and adores chasing (and chirping at!) the laser. She is playful, but can easily change to Netflix and chill; she really just wants to love on you! One charming quality that Victory has is displayed at meal times: she'll eat some food and then immediately seek you out for some appreciative headbutts before returning for more food. If you're looking for a loving cat who will show you her gratitude, Victory is your girl!
Victory accidentally met the resident cats in her foster home and was calm but unsettled; because she really wants to love on her beloved humans, it seems that she would be happier in a home where she can be your only cat, and the princess of your heart!
While Victory can do well on her own during the day, an ideal situation would be with someone who works from home or is home a lot, and can be near her often. She will reward you by following you around and staying close by! Her humans should make sure she stays on her special diet and meds, continue to gently teach her not to nip, and totally love her.
Victory has a beautiful black and white tuxedo and the most adorable white marking between her astounding eyes. You don't have to make a trip to the Louvre in Paris to see the Winged Victory of Samothrace; we have our own, right here in Austin! Contact us today to arrange a meet & greet!
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
