Beautiful, Curious, Wary

If being uncertain, sweet and extra beautiful is a crime then Criminal Gooberton is guilty! This lovely lady needs someone who is a real pro at helping fearful cats blossom into the relaxed, happy kitties they are capable of being.

CG has a sleek, gorgeous black coat with the cutest white patch on her chest. Her big yellow eyes look like pensive moons shining up at you in the dark night. What is she thinking? It's hard to tell, but we know she would love to find a person she can trust so she can see what it's like to no longer feel afraid.

CG came to the shelter with 6 darling black kittens! Now that they've found homes, she is ready to retire from parenting and lead the peaceful life of a cherished housecat. But, she needs your help to do that. The key to winning her over is giving her plenty of space, cozy places to tuck herself away and taking it slow. We also recommend keeping some tuna handy - CG finds it delectable! She'll also trot up to her foster to enjoy some crunchy treats.

She will meow when her fosters come to feed her, and keeps meowing if they don't put her wet food down quickly enough! Her confidence is growing! She walks around the room looking for edges to rub against and she will lay down close to them to rest after she eats. She now prefers to sleep in her cat bed, out in the open, rather than hiding away in the cat tree.

CG was very loving and snuggly with her roommate at the cattery. She would likely enjoy a kitty friend, who is FeLV positive like her (see below), to keep her company and to help her feel more secure.

Patience, time and tuna are key to showing CG that life can be sweet for even the scaredest of kitties. Ready to be a hero to this little soul and to us? Contact us to schedule an introduction!

Criminal Gooberton has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Criminal Gooberton can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about Criminal Gooberton's care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
