People? Snuggled.
Birds? Hunted (through windows).
Cats? ... maybe not.

Pecan Pie knows what he likes and makes sure you know, too!

Pecan Pie is one of our handsome FeLV cats, but you'd never know he's a little different from the average cat. He's currently hanging out in the APA! Volunteer Office, and he loves the activity and attention! He's active until his afternoon nap, and he loves watching people walking APA! dogs and the many birds outside his office window.

One of his favorite activities is preventing his human coworkers from stressing about work. To do this, he enjoys sitting on top of keyboards and mouses. He has trained his coworkers to pat their laps and invite him to snuggle in return for getting off of their computers.

Pecan Pie has a lot to say and makes sure his opinion is known. He purrs quickly for pets and meows for breakfast when his coworkers arrive in the morning.

He's well known for his love of musical chairs, where he hops from one lap to the next to find the person with the best petting skills: he enjoys chin scritches and booty pats. (Spoiler alert: Every human who pets him has the best petting skills!) He isn't picky about who he loves! Every visitor is a best friend, although his regular coworkers are his faves.

Pecan Pie is looking for a home with no other cats to soak up his attention, a nice windowsill to perch upon, and at least one good hand to provide his favorite things: food and pets.

Pecan Pie has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Pecan Pie can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
