Cool, Hug-Loving, Total Lover

Pecan Pie AKA "The Pea-can Man is a fan of laps, treats, and windows, and gives the best hugs.

He's in a foster home now, but spent some time hanging out in the APA! Volunteer Office, where he loved the activity and attention! One of his favorite activities was preventing his human coworkers from stressing about work-he would declare that it was time for a break by sitting on top of keyboards and mice. He trained his coworkers to pat their laps and invite him to snuggle in return for getting off of their computers.

Pecan Pie has a lot to say and makes sure his opinion is known. He purrs quickly for pets and meows for breakfast or to say hello.

He's well known for his love of musical chairs, where he hops from one lap to the next to find the person with the best petting skills: he enjoys chin scritches and booty pats. (Spoiler alert: Every human who pets him has the best petting skills!) He isn't picky about who he loves!

Pecan Pie is looking for a home with a nice windowsill to perch upon and a human that is fond of hugs. He's great with children, and is always interested in new friends, though he does prefer a slow introduction.

Pecan Pie is an FIP Warrior! He has overcome FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a rare viral disease, with specialized care in his foster home. He's looking for his furrever home now - is that with you?

Pecan Pie has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Pecan Pie can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
