Affectionate, relaxed, adaptable
Hey! Hey you! Yes, you! Dizzy Dreidel wants to know if you can give him some neck scritches, the kind that really hit the spot. Afterwards he'll stretch out and let you pet his soft belly fur - what more could you ask for?
Dizzy is a big handsome tabby with a sparkling personality, ready to brighten anyone's home. He has a polite meow, which he only uses when he'd like to request your attention or invite you to fill his food bowl.
He quickly gravitated to the horizontal scratch pad at his foster's house, which he uses both for therapeutic scratching and as a comfy perch. Dizzy loves catnip toys - his tactic is to lick them into submission. He's also enthralled by wand toys, where his approach is to army crawl in spurts across the floor before pouncing.
Make some room on the couch and the bed when you bring Dizzy home, because he'll want to snuggle with you. He has a knack for choosing slightly awkward positions, like the arm of a couch that is just a little too small for him. As long as he's getting pets and love, he's comfortable!

Dizzy did well with other cats in the shelter. He goes on high alert when he hears dogs barking outside, but hasn't had any face-to face encounters. While he hasn't met any kids, he's open to new experiences as long as he's treated with respect.
When Dizzy came to APA! he was having trouble with his left eye, but that was swiftly removed and now he's living the pirate life. He's adjusting beautifully to his new perspective and enjoys spending time on windowsills basking in the natural light.

Dizzy Dreidel has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Dizzy Dreidel can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
