Adventurous, Curious, Affectionate
Parentheses wants to know if you're familiar with her song. No? She'll sing it for you!
'She loves you period / Do you love her question mark? / Please please exclamation point / She wants you to hold her in...well...Parentheses!' -Dan Baird/Terry Randall Anderson
This tortie kitty is so endearing, people who cross her path don't have a choice but to fall in love. Just look at that amazing apricot line between her beautiful green eyes that runs right down to her boopable multicolored nose! And if that wasn't enough, take a peek at her adorable vampire fangs, only visible when she's looking up at you (or singing her song of course).
Parentheses can be skittish with new people, but once she gets to know you all bets are off. She'll want to snuggle and purr on your lap, sleeping right next to you and nuzzling in to your neck. The second you open your eyes she'll meow to let you know she's ready for more affection!
She likes to walk around her house meowing - sometimes to ask for pets, sometimes for food, and sometimes she's just singing her song (you know the one). Parentheses is playful, so don't be surprised when she gets taken over by the zoomies or turns a random household object into a toy. When she wants alone time, she'll head to her favorite boxes under the bed to chill out for a while.
Parentheses would love a moderately active household where she has space to play and to hide, and people who can give her the belly rubs and attention she needs while also respecting her space when she requests it.
Parentheses has had positive interactions with other cats. We don't know how she is with kids or dogs but she's currently living it up in a college apartment, saying hello to everyone who comes to visit (after hiding for 20 minutes first, obviously).
This kitty has lots of love to give and is in search of her perfect forever home! (Is it with you?)
Parentheses has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Parentheses can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
