Introducing Ruby Circus!

The first thing you'll notice about Ruby Circus is that she is a particularly striking gray tabby with three legs. Her leg was amputated after an injury some time ago and has healed completely, so she gets around fine and even hops like a bunny! Aside from that, she is pretty much like any other cat. Tripod cats can lead happy, active lives just like their four-legged counterparts.

Ruby moves a bit slower than the average cat due to her missing leg, and it's easy enough to understand why she'd be a bit cautious and need time to adjust to new places too. She doesn't let having three legs stop her, though - she knows her limitations and can work with it! She may not jump onto things as much, and she may do better with horizontal scratching pads than vertical posts, but that's about it. With her foster she currently spends a lot of time hiding and sleeping, but she can be easily coaxed out for pets and purrs quietly when given attention. She's even OK with belly rubs! Because she's shy, it's so well-earned when she finally trusts you. The first time she hops on your bed is quite a special moment!

While she may be cautious in her environment, she shows no nervousness or fear around her foster's resident cats. She won't let other kitties push her around. Her foster believes she'd do well as an only cat or with another calm cat that isn't too playful and can give her space. Her ideal home is a quiet one where her people can give her plenty of pets and let her trust - and move - at her own pace.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
