Meet Gorder (aka Gordy)!

We're hardly impartial but Gordy is the cutest little guy. Check out that little black splotch next to his nose and his delightfully mismatched socks! We think he's a very dapper tuxedo boy. He looks like an 80% scale cat but he has BIG energy and even bigger purrs! He loves pets, food, making friends with other cats, and playing with every toy.

Gordy has two settings: purr monster and professional toy tester. When given attention of any kind, he revs up his thunderous purr and flops onto the floor at your feet. He also loves to demonstrate biiiiig stretches when he sees you and showing off his belly when he flops. While he is more of a lovey proximity cat, he is learning about lap time and snuggles! He likes to receive scritches while watching TV on the couch with his fosters.

When playing, he bats around springs, foam balls, crinkle toys, and the ribbon toy with relish and chatters or squeaks excitedly as he scampers. He excels at moving toys all over the house and acting with the same unfiltered glee when he finds another. He also trills, chirps, or meows his greetings when he sees people or especially while he tries to befriend his fosters' resident cats. For his part, he gets along with other cats and doesn't push it if another cat is grumpy, doesn't want to play, or wants space. He's a very good boy!

When Gordy initially came to his fosters, he was so terrified that he hid under a bookcase and didn't like to come out unless he was alone. Slowly, though, he began to decompress, feel comfortable in his new space, and trust people. Despite everything he had been through, though, he has had good house manners. One day he decided to approach one of his fosters for scritches and rewarded her with a big purr! He has really come out of his shell and is turning into an affectionate, sweet-natured house cat. His fosters think he may have lived on the street for some time because he is so excited to see food he'll eagerly scarf any cat food or treats he sees. He'll let you know when he's hungry and he prefers to have a brief visit and purr before he eats. Gordy seems to be grateful when he is cared for and loved.

While it's unknown how Gordy would react to children or dogs, he would be over the moon happy if he had a kitty friend around his age in his forever home! He'd love a playmate with whom he can play, chatter, birdwatch, scamper, and snuggle to his heart's content. Of course, he'd be SO HAPPY if he had people who gave him all the scritches too!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
