Affectionate, Brave, a Tough Cookie!

Laurie Strode is a resilient little cat who was rescued from the streets and taken into APA!.

She may be a bit on the shy side, but she is brave. She adores being doted on and thrives on affection. Sweet and cuddly, she loves to get pets on her face and cheeks. She'll flop on her back and ask for more attention with big biscuits. Her purrs show her appreciation for the love you give her. She's a friendly girl, and likely was once someone's cat.

She is quite athletic despite her grandmotherly appearance. Laurie loves to climb and explore cat towers and shelving, and she also has a daily soccer session when she kicks around a small plastic ball at top speed! If you feel like playing, bust out the wand toy! She'll show you all her moves.

Laurie enjoys the company of other kitties. She was very confident when she moved to our Tarrytown cattery, and quickly made to introduce herself to all of her cat roommates. We think this girl would do well with any other cats in your home.

She is okay with being picked up and held, but prefers all her feet on the ground. Laurie's pretty tolerant in general, not much upsets her. You may hear from her time to time, though, she's a surprisingly chatty girl! She would probably do well with some cat savvy older kids!

Laurie is more than ready to embrace the care and kindness she deserves. Would you take her into your family?

Laurie Strode has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Laurie can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about Laurie's care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
