Reserved, Careful, Gives Head Bumps

Chow Miao's calling card is a toy mouse in his water bowl! It is common to find one floating in the bowl, the sign of Chow being a brave and fierce hunter. Once he has placed his prey in this special place, he trots off for a well-deserved nap!

After he gets to know you, Chow will give you head butts and accept gentle body rubs! He can be very affectionate, but he saves it for a while, making sure you are a trusted human. Then, he will seek you out for some low-key lovin'! He will also charm you by making biscuits when he is eating and drinking.

Chow needs someone calm, kind, and patient who will give him time to settle in and relax at his own pace. Prior to his arrival at APA!, all of his feline buddies were adopted, and we think he felt a bit lonely and abandoned. It took him a while to get comfortable in his foster home, and now he will approach his foster mom for back pets and body rubs; he doesn't like his head petted. He prefers to ask for affection, and we are confident that he will ask more and more, given a quiet home and loving people. He has a ton of love to give, he just needs patience and time!

While he is warming up, give him some cozy places for him to tuck himself into, including his carrier - he loves to "hide" in there! With his timid nature, he would do best with adults and young adults who don't rush him and who can respect his space.

Chow likes to chow down! He likes kitty junk food, but is learning that nutritious food is yummy, too. For a while, he may eat only when you're around - he's a bit of a social eater.

He has a handsome white coat with buff tabby markings and a striped tail! He is looking for a calm, predictable home with people to help him bloom into the affectionate boy he is starting to show us. Can you help him blossom to his full potential? Contact us about him today!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
