Loving, Caring, Chill

Much like her namesake, Helen of Troy is a mesmerizing beauty! Soft gray tabby stripes, a snowy white chest with matching paws and gorgeous sea-green eyes that look right into your soul - a few enchanting blinks could launch a thousand ships! Equally captivating is her calm, friendly and warm aura…a soothing and tranquil presence on even the most stressful of days.

We knew from the start that Helen is a very selfless, loving cat. She arrived at the shelter very thin, clearly sacrificing her own health to put the needs of the four kittens in her care first. One of the kittens was an orphan who Helen loved and doted on every bit as much as her own crew.

Helen was weary after traveling in a carrier for hours to get to us. But, after just one night’s rest coupled with some gentle loving, she was welcoming pets from her foster, grateful to feel safe and ready to make friends asap!

Helen really does love the company of humans. When people enter her room, she walks up to greet them and gently rubs against their legs. She is fine with her foster picking her up and holding her like a baby - a much deserved pampering that she thoroughly enjoys!

Helen is such a youngster that she likely will become increasingly playful after she gains a bit more weight and re-energizes, parenting has been exhausting work! She doesn't play a whole lot just yet. But, we’ve noticed her eyeing the wand toys her kiddos love to chase as if she might want to get in on the action. She definitely enjoys a good window seat where she can look outside and watch “Cat TV”, squirrels, birds, leaves blowing in the wind - there's always something to see!

Helen is an engaging, affectionate kitty who would do best in a home where she has a human or animal buddy around most of the time. Her calm nature indicates that she would do well with a furry friend if given an appropriate, slow introduction.

This sweet girl is in the process of rejuvenating and getting her full strength back. Be patient with her as she works her way to 100% and she will reward you with gratitude and sweet affection for life. If you're ready to launch a thousand purrs, contact us to meet Helen of Troy!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
