Endearing, Affectionate, Calm

The first thing you'll notice about Colby Cheese is how affectionate she is. She is happiest when she is curling up on a warm lap getting chin strokes. She adores human attention and she will return the love with body rubs, sweet purrs and little nudges on the hand that pets her. But while she is happiest when the humans are home, she is a laid-back cat and does just fine home alone. But what a joy it is to find her running up to greet you as you walk in the door.

Colby Cheese came to APA! as a stray kitten who had been hit by a car. Fortunately, she fully recovered but she did suffer an injury to her hip, which left her with a little limp in her gait that does not affect her mobility. She likes to occasionally engage in cat play but because she is on the calm side, she's not a wild-cat at play.

She is a burnt orange tabby with unique patterns on her coat that add to her beauty. Consistent with her serene demeanor she's not the type to chat you up, but she will remind you when it's time to feed her.

Colby Cheese has lived around other dogs and cats and has done well in those situations. It may take her a little time to warm up but being the laid-back girl that she is, she'll take what comes. She has responded well to children too.

Colby Cheese has skin allergies so she must eat a special (limited protein) diet. She would do best in a home where she has a lot of human interaction! If you are looking for a sweet, affectionate, and calm cat that will melt your heart, Colby Cheese may be your girl.

Colby Cheese is on a special diet prescribed by a veterinarian. For more information, please contact APA!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.

APA!’s Barn Cat Program Provides You With Your Favorite Whiskered Workers

Some cats prefer mice-hunting to bird-watching, and some prefer laying in grass to sitting on laps. Here at APA!, we believe that barn cats still deserve a chance to live happy and healthy.
