Shy, Grateful, Looking for Love
Lillian is a retiring mama cat who's on the shyer side but ready for all of the attention to finally be on her! She was likely a teen mom kitty and raised as a feral kitten, so Lillian never had a chance to learn how to play or receive affection, but now is her chance to find her perfect loving forever home!
When Lillian first came to her foster, her kittens were about four weeks old, so she was very protective of them and would growl. But within a few days of getting regular food, she let her foster person help her care for her kittens and pet her.
Now Lillian has come such a long way! She greets her foster person at the door every day after work and follows her from room to room, making sure she's always in her sight. Lillian likes to sit a foot or two away from her person and will occasionally curl up next to her legs on the bed. She has gone from hiding in the corner behind furniture to sleeping out in the open and always close to her person, and we think she's just going to improve more and more in the coming weeks!
Playing is another thing Lillian has improved so much with! Before, she was just too scared to play at all, and now she'll play with toys and the resident adult cats. The two resident cats have actually become her best friends. She's very affectionate towards them, rubbing her head and body against them, and will even let one of them cuddle and groom her kittens.
Lillian is very much a homebody with no interest of going outside. She likes the security of being inside where she has all of her toys and food, which she absolutely loves. Food of any kind interests her, which is great considering how skinny she was when she first came to her foster home.
As far as her manners go, Lillian is a pretty quiet cat and has great litter box habits. She's good about using her scratch pad and hasn't been caught scratching any furniture yet. Being picked up, getting her nails trimmed, and getting into a cat carrier are Lillian's main weaknesses, so she'll need some patience with these things!
Lillian would be happiest in a quiet home with someone who will be patient with her to earn her trust. Since she's been so happy with her current cat roommates, she would probably do well with a kitty companion or two.
