Adele has a sweet, loving side, but she will keep it hidden until she's comfortable being in a new environment with new people. We don't know what happened in her past to make her so timid, but since she's been in her foster home she has gradually developed trust.

Adele is open to gentle affection as long as she's not startled when approached. And after a while, she will join you on the sofa for some quiet companionship - and may give you her goofy "derp" face! She prefers to give affection rather than to receive it, purring and rubbing against you. And don't be surprised when one day, out of the blue, she hops into your lap to make some biscuits!

Adele will play with her catnip mice and other toys - as well as stealing bottle caps and batting them around! She's adorable to watch when she's caught up in the moment, swatting her toys across the room and chasing them with wild abandon, zooming around and bouncing off surfaces. This girl has some moves! She also loves her laser pointer!

It's a journey with Adele - today she may be easy around you, but tomorrow she may be alarmed by something, and then she will retreat until she feels safe again. Her new humans should be cat-experienced, understanding, patient, and kind. Adele just needs some extra loving care and time.

She likes to wander the house, curiously checking things out, and discovering cozy places to nap. Her favorite places are quiet, shadowy places high off the floor; for example, in a closet snuggled up on a piece of luggage, or in a hallway nook perched on top of a chair that's tucked away behind coats. She also enjoys a pile of pillows on the bed, where she can nap or gaze out the window. She does sometimes hop up on a counter or a desk to see what you're up to, but never bothers the drapes or blinds.

Adele can be fine with other cats, as well as dogs. It took her a while, but she eventually started playing with the other cat in her foster home! But she might be best as the only pet in her home.

Adele's ideal home would be stable, consistent, and quiet. She needs dependable people who are adept at reading feline body language, able to understand her signals when she's simply not in the mood. If Adele has touched your heart, contact us today to arrange a meet & greet!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
