Louis is the perfect, well-rounded little kitten. He came to Austin to get out of the way of Hurricane Florence in North Carolina, which might explain his fascination with water - he always wants to dabble his little paws in the bathroom sink! Once you're done with the faucet, Louis will follow you around the house, right up until he finds a crinkle ball and then it's time to pounce! He loves to play with anything he can bat across the floor, and he adores wrestling with his sister.
Once he's done with playtime, Louis acts like he's too cool for tummy rubs and chin scratches, but don't believe him. Louis is a cuddle bug in the making! It's easy to want to give him all the affection, what with his cute, expressive face. His foster mom especially loves his "bewildered face and his "judgmental face!
Louis' perfect home is pretty wide open - his only requirement is a little bit of an adjustment period for him to get used to his new space, as he can sometimes be a bit shy at first. After that though, Louis is your best buddy for life!
Louis has tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). FeLV cats have a virus that causes a weaker immune system - they do not have cancer! For the most part, felvies are just like any other cat. You could not pick one out of the crowd, and they generally do not require much additional care. As a bonus, we waive their adoption fees! APA! provides full coverage and treatment for any FeLV-related issues that arise after the time of adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan - we like to compare it to the lifespan of adopting a senior kitty, with the added benefit that they don't have chronic senior health problems, and that FeLV related medical care is covered. Louis is not contagious to people, dogs or other animals, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
