Cautious - Playful - Friendly

Shy is a fluffy creamsicle of a cat with a soft, subtly-striped coat and and very handsome face. Although he's full-grown, he has the adorably small mew of a much younger cat, which you will hear as he enjoys a good meal.

This sweet guy was rescued from a Houston shelter and has been getting used to life in his foster home. His foster mom reports that, while he definitely lives up to his name with new humans at first, she thinks he will continue to blossom. Shy rubs up against her legs at mealtime and is very interested in the resident cat, although she wants nothing to do with him. He spends a fair amount of time hiding out right now, but he also enjoys playing with just about anything he can find: toys, pieces of paper, bags, hair ties - Shy does a good job entertaining himself, but he would like another friendly and playful feline friend in his forever home.

In addition to a feline friend, Shy's ideal forever home would have patient humans who are willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace. Other than that, Shy doesn't need much to be happy - a nice quiet hiding place, a few toys, and delicious cat food.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
