Affectionate, Playful, Cuddly

It's no wonder that Betelgeuse is named after a brilliantly bright star, this girl truly shines! She's animated and happy, and loves people! She will follow you around, and enjoys being picked up and held. Your lap is her go-to spot and when she gets the loving that she so desires, her purr engine is unstoppable!

Betelgeuse is fully capable of entertaining herself. But, if you want to play with her, she's definitely up for that! She thinks mysterious tunnels are endlessly fun, and she will happily scamper after toy mice or jump to catch a moving wand. She does well with children, especially if they pet her soft coat and offer her a cozy lap. At night, she likes to share your pillow, cuddle, and watch high school musical (or whatever you prefer, we suppose).

Betelgeuse has had a few arguments with her current shelter roommates. However, she's gotten along nicely with cats she's met in her past. She'd likely be fine with other kitties if given a slow, proper introduction.

Betelgeuse will immediately greet you when you walk through the door. The reason is simple, in her eyes you're the most beautiful star imaginable. If you're ready for her sweetness to light up your world, contact us for an introduction to Betelgeuse today!

Betelgeuse has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Betelgeuse can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.

APA!’s Barn Cat Program Provides You With Your Favorite Whiskered Workers

Some cats prefer mice-hunting to bird-watching, and some prefer laying in grass to sitting on laps. Here at APA!, we believe that barn cats still deserve a chance to live happy and healthy.
