Friendly, Playful, Cuddly

Darwin loves to play with other cats; he loves to play with cat-friendly dogs; he loves to play with people; he loves to play with balls, wand toys, and other toys. There is a theme developing here...!

Darwin is a friendly and happy guy who loves to cuddle and be held probably as much as he loves to play. And given his superior good nature and cheerful personality, you may be surprised to learn that he is also paraplegic, with reduced motor and sensory function in his back legs. Occasionally he can move his back legs and even stand on them, so we are hopeful that this will continue to improve over time! He's still a young boy.

In the meantime, it would be hard to meet a chummier or more affectionate cat! His ideal home would not only have people who could attend to his medical needs, but who would love him, give him attention, and - of course - play with him. Since he can't use his back legs normally, he is great at scooting along; he is very mobile! We think he would do well with kids who understand his condition and treat him gently, but appreciate and respect the loving and fun guy that he is. He adores interacting with people and the other companion animals in the house.

For now, Darwin eats a supportive diet and takes medications for incontinence, and needs someone to express his bladder (a fancy way to say "gently press on it to help him go pee") a few times a day. He is easy to medicate and express.

Darwin is definitely a survivor - with all of his grace and effervescence intact. Contact us today to arrange a meet and greet!

Darwin is incontinent and requires some extra medical care, which may include a regulated diet and/or manual expression. For more information, please contact APA!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
