Playful, Silly, Spunky

Who's that cute orange tabby sitting up top staring at you? It's Fitz! That inquisitive little face is just waiting for you. He might be a little bit cautious at first, but once he knows you're a cat person he'll happily accept head pets. But, he'd really rather play and play and play! He is all about the toys. Wand toy, feather toy, catnip, ball track -- they're all his favorite. He really enjoys playing with the other cats in his enclosure, so he would love to have a playful kitty friend in his new home as well.

Fitz is incredibly food motivated. When he knows it's mealtime he has a hilarious way of jumping onto the front of his enclosure and hanging on the wiring spread eagle as if to say "Hello! I am here...feed me now!" Staff and volunteers have come to recognize the sound of the "Fitz thump" and know it means Fitz is on the wire ready and waiting for food! He often gets treats as a result. Yes, we know...it likely just encourages him to do it again. But, no one can resist the sight of Fitz plastered on the wire imploring the humans to feed him! Given his love of treats, he could likely be taught to high five or another impressive trick. Might as well harness that food drive to Fitz's obvious high intelligence and put it all to fun use!

If you're looking for an independent kitty who can entertain himself, make you laugh while he does it and who is adorable as can be no matter what he's up to, Fitz is your guy. Come play with him and you may just discover your own kind of Fitz thump right there in your heart!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.

APA!’s Barn Cat Program Provides You With Your Favorite Whiskered Workers

Some cats prefer mice-hunting to bird-watching, and some prefer laying in grass to sitting on laps. Here at APA!, we believe that barn cats still deserve a chance to live happy and healthy.
