Social, Friendly, Confident

Walk around the house, and Buttercup is right behind you; brush your teeth, and she supervises your technique; scoop the litter, and she is helpfully there to provide support! She is friendly with a side of sassy; she's a tortie, after all, so she has the trademark "tortitude" - which is the particular way to describe the zestful personality of a tortoiseshell cat! You might say that Buttercup is, well - no buttercup.

Unless you mean it in a "sweetie" sort of way; then Buttercup is ALL buttercup! She loves her sister, Bubbles. She is all about getting along with her, playing with her, and chasing her around. In fact, this attached pair would love to go to a forever home together. Check out Bubbles' profile here: https://bit.ly/39xkzwt

When it comes to treats, Buttercup will elbow her way to the front of the line to make sure she gets her share! She's quite fond of raw treats and Stella & Chewy's raw food. Of course, she's interested in what you are eating too, especially sour cream. So sometimes she will follow you around in hopes that food will fall in your wake - and she'll be there to clean it up.

No treats? No problem! Buttercup will gladly take your cuddles! She is a snuggly and affectionate girl. She will purr the moment you pick her up, and will help herself to your empty lap for a sweet snooze.

With her markings and that rich cream-and-chocolate coat, Buttercup is gorgeous, too! She always seems to have an expression of intrigue on her face.

Buttercup would be a lovely match for a home with her sister or another resident cat to make friends with. She would be perfect for a high-energy household. (Don't have a high-energy household? She will provide the energy!) She hasn't met any pups yet, but we think her fun, bold, fearless, and spunky vibe would mesh with a cat-savvy doggy. Obviously Buttercup can't get enough playtime and snuggles, so an interactive family with a bustling home is her paradise! She wants to be where the party is.

Buttercup has tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). FeLV cats have a virus that causes a weaker immune system - they do not have cancer! For the most part, felvies are just like any other cat. You could not pick one out of the crowd, and they generally do not require much additional care. As a bonus, we waive their adoption fees! APA! provides full coverage and treatment for any FeLV-related issues that arise after the time of adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan - we like to compare it to the lifespan of adopting a senior kitty, with the added benefit that they don't have chronic senior health problems, and that FeLV-related medical care is covered. Buttercup is not contagious to people, dogs or other animals, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats. For more information, please contact APA! or read more by our Partner, Best Friends Animal Society: http://bit.ly/2FwYCxR

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
