Curious, Playful, Fearless
Much like her namesake, Lorelai Gilmore is quirky, lovable, and adores witty repartee! She speaks in a sweet and chirpy voice to greet you. She follows you around the house, looking up at you, saying "I love you" in her own special, chirpy way. Then she will hang around by your feet, sweetly talking, until you pick her up and cuddle her - even rock her like a baby! When we first met Lorelai she wasn't crazy about being picked up, but that has definitely changed - put her in your lap and she happily sits there, and will even give your nose a lick when you nuzzle her.
Much like snuggling, Lorelai didn't know anything about toys, either, until she came to APA! - now she loves chasing remote control cars and roller skates, as well as wrestling with toy mice and batting at string toys. Butterfly toys, feather toys, your feet walking through the room, a broom if you sweep the floor, even the Roomba - she wants to play with them all! She is fearless, super smart, and easy to engage in play - she never knew life could be so much fun. She has been great playing with the cat-experienced and respectful kids in her foster home - they dangle toys for her to catch and then give her gentle pets and cuddles.
That doesn't mean Lorelai doesn't like to chill, because she does! A sunny window is a magnet for her, and she harmoniously sits on the sofa with the resident adult cats. Navigating the resident cats with wildly differing personalities might be a challenge to some, but Lorelai does well figuring out how to initiate playtime and cuddle time with each of them.
Not so much with dogs, though - yet! Her instinct was to protect herself around the big dogs she met, but it's possible that she could get used to a nice and mellow small dog. She would do best in a home with no big dogs and/or someone willing to work patiently with her on her relationship with bigger dogs.
Lorelai was diagnosed with epilepsy and is on twice-daily seizure medication - and since then has had only one seizure. She takes her meds in her wet food with a tasty treat on top of it! But she can't miss a dose, so if one day she decides she's not going to eat, her human should be skilled in pilling a cat.
Lorelai is a feline delight! She has a creamy and dreamy calico coat and a pretty, petite face. Besides giving her meds, she needs people who appreciate her spirited play, love her melodious chit-chat, revel in cuddling with her, and maybe have a nice cat buddy for her.
