Handsome, social, affectionate!

Eugene is a friendly, spunky dude! This handsome black cat has led quite the life! He was a community cat and once broke his leg. it healed in a funny position, but we think his funky foot makes him all the cooler! Eugene is a cat with a story to tell!

Eugene loves love, but he isn't a huge fan of surprises at first. He likes new people to go slow with him when they come in for the pets. He begs for affection, but gets spooked if it comes too fast. He loves it when you let him sniff your hand and rub his head on you. Once you get that cue, it's time for some good head scratching! He likes butt scratches too and will meow at you to give him head pets once he feels comfortable with you. Once you're giving him pets, he enthusiastically butts your hand to make sure you're petting him enough! He's okay with being picked up too. He purrs when you pet him. He is also not shy about using his meow! This guy will talk at you until you pay attention to him!

Eugene would love a furrever home with lots of treats and affection! He will entertain himself during the day, but wants a loving companion who will listen to him and follow his petting directions to the enjoyment of all!

Eugene is a healthy FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) cat. FIV+ cats typically live long, healthy lives! For more information, please contact APA! or read this FAQ: http://bit.ly/2DPxI43

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.

APA!’s Barn Cat Program Provides You With Your Favorite Whiskered Workers

Some cats prefer mice-hunting to bird-watching, and some prefer laying in grass to sitting on laps. Here at APA!, we believe that barn cats still deserve a chance to live happy and healthy.
