Talkative! Foodie! Sweet!

A warm welcome from Nemo! We've all seen Finding Nemo, but have you seen Nemo find you? This Nemo will swim in to your heart and tell you of his journeys from his past. Nemo came to APA! as a former street kitty. We have discovered that street cats blossom in to loving companions. We think it's their way of expressing their gratitude to their human friends for giving them a new life! With a boop-able nose, and a his scratch-worthy soul patch on his chin, it's hard to resist giving Nemo affection. You can see his Buddha-cat face if you give him some cheek and chin scratches. He'll lift up his head and his eyes will squint tightly- that's the spot!

The most notable thing about Nemo is definitely his vocals! Like a singing bird in Snow White, Nemo will chirp back to you with every word. "How was your day? What's for dinner? Can we take a nap together?" These are all things you'll hear Nemo ask you in cat language. Speaking of what's for dinner, Nemo is a true foodie! Don't worry about food allergies or ordering off the gluten-free menu, Nemo will scarf it all down just the same. He will merrily trot to whomever is holding the treat bag. Don't be surprised if he follows you around after that. The promise of food is a direct way to Nemo's heart.

Nemo has been blessed with a wonderful foster parent. After some warm-up time, Nemo would find his way to her lap and plop down in a cuddle puddle. It wasn't long before he was lying next to her during movies, and giving long loving blinks as he purred himself to sleep beside her.

Nemo would be best suited for a home with someone who can be patient and kind with him. He adores his human friends and does best with gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement. That can be in the form of some yummy treats for good behavior, and extra special snuggle time to develop trust and bonding. He is curious about other cats, and has been known to take a special shining to kittens. Nemo would prefer to be in a dog-free home. He hasn't met any children yet and would do best with older children than can be patient with Nemo's gentle heart.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.

Nemo has tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). FeLV cats have a virus that causes a weaker immune system - they do not have cancer! For the most part, felvies are just like any other cat. You could not pick one out of the crowd, and they generally do not require much additional care. As a bonus, we waive their adoption fees! APA! provides full coverage and treatment for any FeLV-related issues that arise after the time of adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan - we like to compare it to the lifespan of adopting a senior kitty, with the added benefit that they don't have chronic senior health problems, and that FeLV-related medical care is covered. Nemo is not contagious to people, dogs or other animals, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats. APA!’s Barn Cat Program Provides You With Your Favorite Whiskered Workers

Some cats prefer mice-hunting to bird-watching, and some prefer laying in grass to sitting on laps. Here at APA!, we believe that barn cats still deserve a chance to live happy and healthy.
