Sweet, Gentle, Foodie

Melrose may be young, but she's ready for early retirement! After successfully raising a litter of five healthy kittens, she's looking forward to spending some "me" time in a relaxing space with easygoing humans. In retirement, Melrose hopes to spend her days doing all her favorite activities: getting head scratches, eating, and bird watching!

Right now, Melrose isn't really interested in playing since she's been hard at work raising her kittens. She gets much more excited about food than she does toys. Coming into foster, Melrose was very malnourished, but she has since gained a lot of weight and looks as healthy as ever! Food is a great way to calm Melrose's nerves, too. She comes right out of her shyness if she sees you have food! Overall she's a pretty quiet kitty, but right before feeding time she can't hide her excitement and will get vocal if she's hungry!

Melrose is pretty independent and doesn't require much attention from her humans, even though she's still very sweet. She's not much of a lap cat, but she does enjoy scratches on her head and at the base of her tail. Hanging out by the window is much more interesting to Melrose than snuggling with people. She absolutely loves sitting by an open window and listening to and watching the birds! A nice spot by the window is at the top of her wishlist!

Not much is known about Melrose's history, so how she feels about other cats, dogs, and kids is uncertain. Fellow low-energy animals and humans would be the best roommates for her. The ideal forever home for Melrose is one with patient people who will let her have the space she needs to open up and get comfortable with her new surroundings. She's a super sweet and easygoing kitty but definitely prefers a relaxed home environment!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
