Playful, Confident, Alert
Gorgeous, lovable, and independent are just a few words to describe this beauty! Ruth has the greatest time exploring her surroundings, and she loves the calm that comes with wandering around, just checking things out. She has finished raising her kittens, and has been craving some peace and quiet! She will happily spend most of her time around loving humans who can give her all of the attention!
Ruth loves chasing toys around (whether string/wand toys waved back and forth, or rolled/thrown balls and stuffed toys), and will bat them back and forth with you (especially with anything that will roll). She seems to be most interested in playing with someone as opposed to on her own; her interest tends to fade if left alone with a toy, but she will play for a good long while with you!
Ruth likes to warm up to you before she starts headbutting you to ask for pets! Her favorite seems to be small scratches between her brows. She'll tolerate (perhaps with a token meow of protest) being picked up or held in your lap, but is most likely to walk off as soon as she's let go; she likes being pet but likes her space as well, and generally seems more interested in playing than affection.
Pro tip: Ruth can be bribed with treats!
With slow introduction, Ruth has the potential to get along well with other animals in the home. She seemed indifferent to the small dog she met, and is curious about her feline roommates; sometimes they bully her, sometimes she doesn't like them, sometimes she's friendly with them - so it depends on the cat! She would also do best in a home with kids who have some cat experience. She can be quite vocal when nervous and would do well with an owner who can be patient with her chattiness while she gets used to her new surroundings.
This sweet and confident girl is patiently waiting her turn for a forever home, if she sounds like the purrfect fit for your family,
