Shy, Timid, Hopeful

Karen is worried that you're going to think she's "a Karen." Really, she's just a shy kitty who hasn't had a lot of human contact. She needs time, space and kindness to grow into a happier cat. Can you give her some love and help?

Karen was found with her two kittens who have been adopted. Now that it's just her, she waits until the coast is clear to emerge from her crate and do some exploring. She'll let you pet her, slowly, when she's in her safe space (the crate). She's curious about what's going on around her and we think that could be a good sign for her future.

Karen needs a quiet home with a patient, kind, and cat-experienced human who delights in helping cats become more socialized. It will be a journey with Karen, but we have no doubt that every step is worth it. Sweet girl! She's still young and all she needs is for the right loving forever home to give her a chance to thrive!

Karen has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Karen can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
