Independent, funny, particular

Cry Baby is a lovely young calico girl. Like many calicos, she can be charmingly particular. When she's in a familiar, comfortable environment, and when she and you are both doing what she'd like, she's a calm, quiet, and happy girl.

She's quite adventurous and playful, and she has a special fondness for chasing and batting balled-up socks. She also likes to cuddle up next to her preferred people and be petted. She can become over-stimulated by petting and start play-fighting your hands and arms, so her adopter will need to be able to read her body language.

Cry Baby earned her name by speaking out about anything that doesn't thrill her. When that happens, she uses an adorable annoyed tone in her meow, in which she's clearly saying that she insists on speaking to the manager! She doesn't care to be picked up, and if you pet her for longer than she'd like, she'll tell you that she's becoming annoyed. She most definitely does not like carriers and car rides, and will sing you the song of her people the whole way to the vet.

Cry Baby is friendly with cats she knows, but she needs a long, slow introduction to feel comfortable with a new cat. She has not been around dogs or kids, and given her
tendency to be annoyed, she's not the best fit for them.

We think that Cry Baby would thrive, and perhaps also mellow out more with age, in a calm, quiet environment. This girl definitely craves love and security, and we think she would blossom into a grateful angel over time.

Cry Baby has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Cry Baby can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
