Charming. Bright. Chill.

If you've always sorta wanted a monkey as a pet, but know they're wild animals that require specialized care so you won't accomplish that dream, we have the next best thing: A cat who thinks she's a monkey! Say hello to Hallow Vera!

While you probably won't find Hallow Vera hanging upside down from her cat tree, she usually keeps her tail in a monkey-like tight curl. She's playful and enjoys throwing toys and balls as well as wand toys, and it generally a fan of monkeying-around. When she's not playing, she's either hanging out with her foster family and requesting pets, or catnapping and doing lots of stretching. If you're a Yogi, Hallow Vera will surely join you on the mat, and could probably teach you a few new moves!

Hallow Vera is a super sweet gal who can be a little shy at first, but is still overwhelmingly friendly. Given a little time and space, she quickly comes out of her shell and starts requesting cheek scritches and pets.

Hallow Vera's ideal home would be one where she can relax and hang out but also where she can periodically get her play on. She's a chill and tolerant kitty, and has gotten along with her feline foster siblings, both adult and kitten. Because of that, we think that she could do well in most homes. We don't know for sure how she does with dogs or kids, but given her gentle soul and high tolerance of shenanigans, we think she could adapt to most homes. We always recommend doing a slow introduction to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable.

Hallow Vera has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Hallow Vera can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
