Loving, Charming, Loyal

Balrus is a sweet boy who loves head scratches, neck scritches, head bumps, and cuddles. He welcomes affection from his human - he's a consummate lovebug!

He usually saves his energy for snuggling and lounging around, but he will get the zoomies now and then! He plays, too, and his favorite toys are small mouse toys he can throw around, toys that go "chirp", and jingly wand toys.

Balrus becomes very affectionate once he feels he knows you, and he is happy to hang out near you, wherever you are! He absolutely wants to cuddle, and prefers for it to be his idea. He likes gentle, easy pets on his head, neck, and back, and then he's done; he doesn't need constant petting or he can become overstimulated.

In his previous home, Balrus lived with another cat that he didn't like, as well as a dog that made him nervous. He didn't interact with the cat, and as long as the dog left him alone, Balrus could co-exist with her (though truth-be-told, the dog was afraid of Balrus!). So, Balrus's previous owner made the tough decision to give him a chance to find a new home that suited him better and made him happy.

Balrus would likely do best as the only pet in the house, and he would prefer a home that was tranquil and low-traffic. He hasn't been around kids, but we suspect that he would do better with adults and young adults who can understand and respect his boundaries.

We don't know why Balrus is nervous, but to help him feel more comfortable, he takes anxiety medication. Sometimes even a sweet kitty like Balrus needs a little help.

He has a splendid black and white tuxedo and the cutest, silliest little goatee and the most darling black nose spot! He is at his calmest when he is in a calm environment. He's such a great cat that we want to give him the great home that he deserves!

Balrus is loving, with a dash of independence. If he sounds perfect for you, contact us today to arrange a meet & greet!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
