Independent, Sassy, Sweet
Can we interest you in a Sweet Tea? Not the refreshing Southern drink you're thinking of - Sweet Tea the cat! Sweet Tea is a gorgeous tortie girl with an independent and playful personality. She loves to stay active and keeps herself entertained easily with toys and bird watching - her favorite activities!
Sweet Tea has an impressive activity level for not being a kitten anymore! She loves playing with cat toys of all sorts, especially the laser pointer. And you don't even have to worry about making time to play with her since she's happy as can be playing with her toys on her own! Sweet Tea can entertain herself with toys for as long as an hour! Watching bird and squirrel videos on YouTube is another hobby of hers - even better if you have a nice bird watching spot in your home so she can see some live action!
When it comes to being affectionate, Sweet Tea isn't super cuddly, but she still enjoys being petted and hanging out near her people. She does not like to be approached, so let her come to you! When she does, Sweet Tea will let you pet her, which she likes - but being picked up is a big nope for her. She does, however, really love sleeping in bed with you at night, which is probably the extent of her snuggliness right now.
Sweet Tea is pretty easygoing and doesn't meow much aside from when she gets excited about something she sees outside the window. She likes other cats and would enjoy having another social kitty buddy at her forever home! Being approached and picked up are two of her big dislikes, so homes with small kids may not be a good fit. She can also get a little bitey or scratchy if she's afraid.
The perfect forever home for Sweet Tea is one with patient people who will give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell. She's a really great cat to hang out with if you're not looking for a kitty that needs constant attention. Give her some cool toys, a nice spot by the window, and a space in bed next to you, and Sweet Tea will be one happy girl!
Sweet Tea has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Sweet Tea can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
