Lively, Snuggly, Curious
Say hello to Thin Lizzy! This fun guy came to us from Laredo and he's been stealing hearts here ever since. With his gentle, friendly personality, it's hard not to love him! If there are too many people around when you first bring him home, he might be a bit shy, but it won't take him too long to settle in. Once he does, he'll release his inner goofball!
Thin Lizzy loves full body pets and enjoys chest/back rubs. He has his independent stints, especially at night, but he can always be coaxed into a snuggle with a chin/chest scratch, which he'll go wild for. While you're sleeping he'll prefer to sleep by your legs, but if you start petting him in the morning, he'll be glad to curl up in your arms or lay on your chest while you give him extra scratches.
Most of Thin Lizzy's meowing comes when he's feeling lonely or bored. If you've been gone for a while, he'll meow to greet you upon your return. His meows can also mean, Play with me! if he notices you're in the room and he wants your attention. Thin Lizzy isn't a super food motivated kitty so he doesn't really meow for food, but he will go BANANAS if he smells cheese!
While Thin Lizzy loves spending time with his humans, he's also great at entertaining himself. He has been found batting around ketchup packets and playing with his foster's plants. He'll also interact with pretty much any toy you give him, but it does take him time to warm up to new ones. He loves a good string toy chase, will play with kickers and other plush toys on his own, and enjoys batting things like balls around. He will definitely pay attention to the laser pointer, but it's hard to get him to do quite as intense a chase as with the string toy.
Thin Lizzy is looking for a purr-ever home where he can get lots of attention and affection. His guardian may need to do some kitty-proofing to their home because he is one curious cat! He can also be a bit messy with litter so we'd recommend having a box with high sides.

Thin Lizzy has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Thin Lizzy can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
