Calm. Affectionate. Lap cat extraordinaire.

Shane is all friendliness and fluff! This fella isn't shy in the slightest. He's a content lap cat and his fur is a dream to pet.

Though Shane is a pretty quiet fella, his long ears will perk up at the sound of a noisy toy (a crinkly ball is a great way to get his attention). He will bat at them a little, but if you ask Shane to choose between a lap or play-time, he'll take the lap every time. Shane enjoys being pet, particularly getting a gentle shoulder rub or top-of-the-head scritches. He was remarkably patient while being brushed, too. While he loves plopping down in a lap and will be content to cuddle indefinitely, Shane's not too keen on being picked up or carried and will meow to let you know he would like to be let down.

Shane has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Shane can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

Shane would be the purr-fect fit for someone looking for a snuggle buddy. He'll happily keep you comfortable while you read, watch, tv, or work. Shane would do just fine as an only cat for someone who will lavish attention upon him. Does that sound like you? Come meet Shane today!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
