Independent, Lethally Cute, Gentle

Oreo Speedwagon is ready to love you and spend as much time as possible getting pets, pets, and well, more pets! She has been described by those who know her as "lethally cute" - and we totally agree!

Oreo is so happy when you give her attention and likes to invite you over with her polite little meow. You're welcome to give her belly rubs, too; she truly enjoys them and it's not a "trap" to start wrestling your hand! But she draws the line at being picked up, that's not her jam. Neither will she take over your lap; she's too wriggly for such confining activities! She prefers to chill out, hang out, and spend time with you and have her soft coat stroked and scratched and to get chin rubs. She's the perfect mellow roommate!

Oreo definitely has an independent spirit. She comes over for love when she's ready, but otherwise she lives a very quiet and independent life of window sill hopping and scratch post scratching. She does sometimes get tempted to scratch your furniture. But, just tell her NO, and she'll stop immediately.

Oreo isn't interested in toys or the other animals in the house. She would do best in a home where she is the sole kitty. She is supremely happy on her own. She is fine with the friendly dog in her foster home as long as the dog 100% ignores Oreo, which she does.

It's hard to believe this affectionate girl was once living on her own outside! When she came to APA! she was disheveled and uncared for. Now her pretty black and white coat shines, her whiskers are perky, and she is soaking up all the love!

Oreo has the cutest blep and for good reason. Her teeth were bothering her so much that she had a full tooth extraction. She is healing well and feeling better. She does a little drooling now and then, but nothing a little wipe won't fix in a jiffy. These days she only eats wet food. So, you won't need to worry about having kibble scattered all over the floor!

Oreo is initially cautious, but that doesn't stop her from being curious. She can't resist roaming around and exploring the house in search of the perfect spot to nap!

In closing, Oreo asked us to share a few lines from her favorite song:
"And I'm gonna keep on lovin' you
'Cause it's the only thing I want to do."
- Keep on Lovin' You, REO Speedwagon

If you would like to give this sweet girl the affection she adores and deserves, and keep on lovin' her...for life, contact us for an introduction. Oreo is the ideal laid-back cat companion!

Oreo Speedwagon has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Oreo Speedwagon can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
