Cuddly, Polite, Deep-voiced

Barton Springs heard you like a sharp-dressed man, so he put on his best fur coat for you! He thinks you'd be the PURR-fect match. His friends call him Bart, but you can call him family! He may look intimidating in his tux, but he's not at all formal. He is super friendly - he even sports a Charlie Chaplin mustache to add some whimsy to his look! He loves to meet new people and is hoping he can meet you.

Bart is a good cook who's always making biscuits on blankets and friends; the cherry on top is when he gives you his gentle headboop! His love language is physical touch, so he's happiest when he's cuddling you - in your lap, on your chest, next to you, wherever he can. He would be great with adults and young adults, and we think even with kids - he gives a love nip now and then, but it's gentle and delivered with affection.

Bart is a true gentleman and will always let you choose the channel. He'll even cozy up next to you while you watch some TV. When it's his turn to pick a show he always prefers videos of birds and mice on CatTV so he can try to catch some critters!

Bart is a funny guy! He enjoys playing with his wand toy, "Mr. Worm", and will always make you laugh. When he feels stealth he hides in a box, and to get his zoomies on he will run through the kitty tunnel! His idea of a perfect date is a walk in his harness (yep, that's right - see photo!) where you both can safely explore the outdoors; he prefers cooler weather, and is more into carefully inspecting each and every plant - and anything else that smells good to him - than actually racking up some mileage! But truly, Bart's idea of a perfect date is *anytime* he spends with you.

He's a pretty soft-spoken kitty and has a low voice that's more of a "mew" than a "meow." He will talk in the morning after you wake up and greet you when you come home from work.

Bart's ideal home would have a big window for him to survey the outside and a person who loves cuddles! Someone who works from home would be icing on the cake, but if you can spend your time with him after work he is more than happy to snuggle in bed or on the couch.

Bart likes to scratch his ears, which has caused some balding - but he's a trooper and lets you apply ointment to help them heal!

We hope you can meet Bart soon because we're PAWS-itive that once you check him out you'll want to take him home with you!

Barton Springs has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Barton Springs can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
