Introducing, the one, the only, Empress Juliet Thoroughwood! A glamorous name and a beautiful torbie cat! She has her bags packed and is ready to go to her forever home. Read on to learn more about her.

This sweetheart arrived to APA! after being rescued from a hoarding environment. Many things are new to her, but she's doing well in her human foster's home. She was initially scared in her new environment. Everything was so different from her prior home. But she is catching on to the fact that being the only cat in a home with a friendly human is pretty pleasing.

She enjoys her head scratched. She'll even head bump you so you pay her attention. Once affection is received she'll turn on her motor and serenade you with purrs.

She also has a very loud "meow." However, she's usually pretty quiet except when her foster human visits. Then she may be a chatter box.

Currently she is living in a small room so she won't be overwhelmed in her new environment. She is still cautious, but has indicated that she's interested in exploring the other side of the door. She is adapting and soon she'll be allowed to roam the house.

She lets one know if she wants attention or to be left alone. She prefers to feel comfortable before allowing herself to be handled. She might scratch when forced to do an unwanted activity, so her humans should be kind, gentle, and cat-experienced.

How she behaves around another cat is unknown. She hasn't had experience with a dog or a child.

Sometimes homeless cats who have not received proper veterinary care may have a condition called Feline Leukemia (FeLV). By the time Empress Juliet Thoroughwood arrived at the shelter, she had been exposed.

FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Empress Juliet Thoroughwood can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

Empress Juliet Thoroughwood's ideal forever home would be in a family that is calm, low-key, and patient with her. She'll need time to adjust and feel safe. She'd do best as an only cat, and in a home without small children who may be too rough or loud.

Come on and check out this lovely gal and find out if your heart is ready to give her a forever home.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
