Introducing Hamilton, a spunky 9-year-old Irish Wolfhound mix. Hamilton lived with two other big dogs in his foster home. He initially was somewhat forward with them, but settled down and enjoyed hanging out with them. Hamilton is also good with older children and lived with a 12-year-old and 17-year-old. Hamilton enjoys playing, and getting pats from them, so he would do fine in a home with other dogs and older children.

Hamilton is still working on his house training skills and is about 80% housebroken. But he is so smart he should be housebroken in no time. He is also somewhat of an escape artist, and has tried to go out through the front door and the garage door, so new pet parents should be aware of this and keep an eye on Hamilton.

Hamilton is working on his leash walking skills. Initially he is very excited and pulls on the leash, but settles down after a short while. He is also working on his training skills and will stay in his crate overnight after initial objection. Hamilton knows "sit and "shake and is working on "down. He is a very smart boy!

Hamilton loves affection and will rub on you until he gets the attention he needs. He is also good with meeting new people. Hamilton also enjoys chasing toys and going on his walks.

Hamilton would do best in a home where his people are around a majority of the time and will be perfect for an active household. He should fit in a multi-dog household as well. Hamilton enjoys going for walks and it seems to be a good way to reduce his energy level.

Do you have room in your heart, and a place in your home for the cute, Ewok looking Hamilton? Come meet Hamilton today!

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

This pup is currently located at our Town Lake Animal Center (1156 W. Cesar Chavez, but use 1200 Reserve Road for mapping purposes). We'd love to show them off to you! To learn more about them, head in any day between 12:00PM - 6:00PM. We are open 7 days a week! Go to Building B and ask to speak with a Matchmaker about fostering this pup. You will sit down and discuss all we know about them and, if it's a good fit, get to meet them then! Please budget for a wait time unless you arrive right at opening as we cannot dictate walk-in traffic (wait times tend to be highest in the evenings and on weekends). If this pup ends up not being the best fit, we have so many other pups in need that we can suggest for your household on the spot!
