Sager is ready for a new adventure! Sager is a Labrador Retriever, Great Dane and Pit Bull Mix whose got the drive of a Lab, the heart of a Dane, and the size of a Pitty. He is incredibly sweet, good with kids, dogs, and cats, and feeds off his family's energy-whether that be outdoor adventures or just a lazy day at home.

Sager knows several commands, including sit, stay and down. He is a solid leash walker, but is very strong, so the use of a Starmark collar or harness is recommended. He can be very energetic and likes ball play, whether with kickballs or Chuckit! He can also play with cats if your cat is into that sort of thing (his foster's are). He is house- and crate-trained. However, he does have a water obsession that requires extreme attentiveness to avoid accidents. This is often solved by withholding freestanding water and substituting with ice and water around meal times. Other health concerns of note include skin dermatitis that are exasperated by seasonal allergies, worsening in the spring and summer. He also has dry eye, a condition that in the winter requires additional topical application to his nose in particular.

That said, Sager would make a fantastic addition to a person or family who can truly dedicate time to him and his needs. He'll reciprocate in kind with affection and love. He is a wonderful companion. Come meet Sager today!

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

This pup is currently located at our Town Lake Animal Center (1156 W. Cesar Chavez, but use 1200 Reserve Road for mapping purposes). We'd love to show them off to you! To learn more about them, head in any day between 12:00PM - 6:00PM. We are open 7 days a week! Go to Building B and ask to speak with a Matchmaker about fostering this pup. You will sit down and discuss all we know about them and, if it's a good fit, get to meet them then! Please budget for a wait time unless you arrive right at opening as we cannot dictate walk-in traffic (wait times tend to be highest in the evenings and on weekends). If this pup ends up not being the best fit, we have so many other pups in need that we can suggest for your household on the spot!
