Maple Syrup is the sweetest angel. Maple is such an amazing and beautiful doggy! She appears to be a Caroline Dog based on her markings and classic personality traits. She would make the MOST WONDERFUL companion. She's recovering from a paw injury, so we avoid stairs out of an abundance of caution and carry her when necessary. Again, Maple is so grateful for affection and love and once she trusts you, her loyalty is unwavering. She licks you and offers her paw when she knows it time to be medicated and never resists her oral medication.
This sweet gal is cautious when encountering new people and places, but quickly warms up. She is very playful and loves her chew toys. Maple is definitely an indoor dog, but loves to spend time outside too. She is very well behaved and does not beg for food inside the house, but does like to lounge on an outdoor chair after some rough and tumble play with another dog. When she is ready to come inside, she will whimper at the door . Maple has learned to walk on a leash like a pro! This baby girl just needs a loving home where she feels safe and she would be so happy to share her space with other dogs and cats or to be someone's one and only constant companion.
Maple is potty and crate trained. She sleeps in her crate at night and when her foster parents are not home. She prefers to sleep on the floor anywhere inside the house, but sweetly responds to encouragement to go inside her crate when requested.
Maple wags her tail when she sees dogs, cats, or kids and walks right past them respecting their space. Her foster family has a cat that prefers to keep their distance based on their personalities, but I'm certain Maple would love to share a pet bed with them if they allowed.
Come meet sweet Maple, you are sure to fall in love with her precious personality.
PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:
Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.
