Introducing Codex, an adorable, playful young pup! Codex currently is the only dog in his foster home but loves playing with other foster puppies who have since been adopted, both chasing them and being chased. Codex is ideal for living with other dogs, and he's also young enough to adapt to a home with kids and cats!

When Codex goes on walks, he doesn't even try to chase animals (from ducks to deer!). Codex is fully crate-trained for bedtime and while you are out during the day. And he is potty-trained. He is also working on obedience skills and consistently responds to sit, down, wait, paw and is working on roll-over, place (to walk next to you) and heel. Codex does no resource guarding and is very treat motivated, which is great for training. And he loves playing fetch and tug with toys!

Codex is very affectionate and LOVES people! He will absolutely adore being in a home with a big family and tons of visitors. His foster mom is patio training him and he's learning to settle down. He is also happy (thrilled!) to be your lap dog if you let him. He either wants to play with you or wants to sit by -- or on -- you. And when his foster mom is working at home, he'll often curl up in the dog bed in her office and either nap or chew a toy.
Codex is easygoing and young enough to fit in most homes.

PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.
