Peanut (formerly known as Molasses at APA) is a high-flying buddy ready to jump into your life! Peanut is a playful and very loyal friend! He wakes up every day excited for life!

Peanut loves starting his morning with a little exercise -- fetching a ball or playing tug with his toys! Peanut shows affection by sitting next to you and putting his paws on your lap or shoulders to greet you in the morning or when you come back home.

He is very athletic and will do very well with agility training! But don't let his energy fool you. When 8 pm hits, he is ready to cuddle on the couch!

Peanut is great at staying home during the day and can be left free to roam, doing well when his fosters are away, up to 8 hours. He enjoys chewing on toys or playing with treat puzzle toys. He will be so excited to see you come home.

He is fully house-trained and also understands the commands "sit" and "paw." He is very motivated by treats and praise and is eager to learn new skills! Peanut is working on learning the skills of walking on a leash.

Peanut loves playing with other dogs! He is very interested in cats and has had some experience with an older cat, who tolerated his curiosity well! Peanut really enjoys children, but can do some jumping up and nipping, so it may be best for him to be in a home without children or with older kids.

Peanut would love to meet you! He may be a little nervous and timid at first, but once he makes the connection, he will be your best friend!

PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.

Come meet your new best friend
