Elsa is a magical puppy who is sweet, curious, affectionate, fun, and very smart. She is looking for someone to guide her into her new world.

Elsa loves the other dogs in her foster home. She responds to correction from the older male dogs and is figuring out how to play with the younger female dog. Her fosters are working to make sure she understands that everyone gets treats and pets. They think she will also do well in a home with cats. She met a friend's cat; they touched noses and Elsa walked away.

Elsa came to foster, afraid of everything. In the short time, she has made huge strides to grow her confidence! Elsa has been learning basic obedience and house manners. She is food motivated and learns commands quickly. And she is making good progress in crate- and house-training. She is low energy (for a puppy) and is great at sleeping at her foster's feet while they work.

Elsa is excellent on a leash. She is slow to approach new people. In public she watches people go by and accepts treats from strangers. She gets overwhelmed by kids so she may do best in a home with older kids or teens who will allow her time to warm up.

Elsa needs a home with parents who want to continue taking her to training classes to continue building her confidence.

If you're looking for an affectionate puppy to guide into dog-hood and who wants to be your best friend, come meet Elsa!

PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.
