These three cuties were rescued from a hoarding case about 3 weeks ago.

Kit & Kat are two fast growing energetic 5wk old puppies who love to ruff and tuff with each other and hang out with human friends. Still nursing on mom, but exploring wet and dry puppy food like big kids. One puppy (Kat) has a healing abscess on the top of his head, but doesn't cause any issues.

Mama Lindsey has had a rough start to her young life. She is HW+, has severe hip dysplasia on both hips resulting in difficulty and discomfort going up and down stairs and running, and has a healing spinal vertebra fracture on the middle of her spine from a gun shot; thankfully the fracture is healing and won't cause any neurological issues but is still a little uncomfortable when touched. However, through all of this adversity, she is an absolute sweetheart to humans and dogs (very submissive); she's still terrified of her current foster's dog savy/bossy cats. Because of her previous abuse, she has some anxiety during her initial adjustment period when in a new environment; she wants to be with people 24/7, but also wants to have a safe space to hide if needed. She has tried to dig a hole underneath our shed, so would advise supervised outside time initially or walks. She is such a good girl on leash and is potty trained. She is currently on daily pain medications and joint supplements for her hips, doxycycline for her heartworm infection (in case foster is comfortable continuing heartworm treatment in foster home), and medications for diarrhea as her GI system isn't happy with the high protein puppy food she is now receiving. She takes her medications easily in pill pockets without any hesitation.

She is currently on the waiting list for an orthopedic consult at the medical clinic to determine how to best manage her various health issues. This could take up to a couple of months depending on the number of patients on the list.

PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:

Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.
