Shelby was brought into the shelter as an owner surrender. She seems to have been shot and needs to come here to be seen by out vets so we know how to care for her! She was pulled into a foster home and was noted that she is very sweet and has had no issues with her! She loves going for walks and is great on the leash, but is also excited to go back in her crate to rest after! She is a sweet pup who just needs some TLC. Can you help her?
This is what her temp foster home has to say about her!
"Shelby could quite easily be the easiest foster dog that I've had in the past 6 years: she's potty trained, dog-friendly, low-key, has a great appetite, seeks attention but isn't overbearing, loves her crate, sleeps most of the day, walks well on a leash, and rides easily in a car. She's met kids and been calm with them, even when they pulled on her long floppy ears. She hasn't met a cat yet, but her prey drive seems dull: the ducks in the creek might as well have been wooden for all she cared about them. Watch out for that helicopter tail - it will effectively relocate your wineglass some distance from the coffee table!
My favorite moments with Shelby are when I let her out of her crate in the morning and she follows me into the kitchen and gives me a perfect hound "awooo! She's only recently become more vocal, and while it's not often, it is adorable. Shelby is a master of the high-five and will give you a paw to remind you that belly scratches are required. She prefers to go for a walk to go potty than be in the backyard, and she lives for a good sniff-safari. Even though she's been aged at 2.5 years old, Shelby acts like a much older, sophisticated, and gentle lady. We've loved having her."
