Rocky is a very affectionate little guy who will love to follow you around. He loves to snuggle right next to his foster parents in bed under the covers. He likes to wedge himself in the middle of the bed between them and shares a pillow with both of them.
This sweet little guy's spine isn't connected properly, which causes him to leak urine sometimes. He just needs to wear a diaper or belly band. He's a very good boy who stays still for his diaper changes.
The condition doesn't seem to bother him, as he runs and jumps and plays like every other dog. Thunderstorms don't seem to bother him at all. And he is crate- trained. He is left out of the crate with a TV on when his fosters are away from home, and he does well.
Rocky will love a home with backyard space where he can spend a lot of time without a diaper on. He is very scared of other dogs, so he may do best as the only pet or he may adapt to a calm, patient older dog or a very patient young pup.
Come meet this sweet boy. He'll be happy to go home with you. He'll just hope to be tucked in your bed so he can steal your pillow!
PUPPIES AND OTHER HIGHLY-ADOPTABLE DOGS DISCLAIMER:
Puppies and other highly-adoptable dogs (small dogs or desirable-breed dogs) at APA! are very high in demand and usually have several interested adopters. Inquiring about a dog, meeting a dog, and even applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt the dog. Only one household will be able to adopt each dog, which means all other interested households will inevitably and unfortunately be disappointed. Please consider this in your search and set your expectations accordingly. Please also consider that adult dogs do not typically have competing adopters, and they need furever homes, too! Additionally, APA! does not allow the adoption of dogs who are related (e.g., littermates or mom and pup) to the same household for behavioral reasons.
INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?
This pup is currently located at our Tarrytown Dog Adoption Center (3118 Windsor Road). We'd love to show them off to you! To learn more about them, head in any day between 12:00PM - 6:00PM. We are open 7 days a week! Go to Building B and ask to speak with a Matchmaker about fostering this pup. You will sit down and discuss all we know about them and, if it's a good fit, get to meet them then! Please budget for a wait time unless you arrive right at opening as we cannot dictate walk-in traffic (wait times tend to be highest in the evenings and on weekends). If this pup ends up not being the best fit, we have so many other pups in need that we can suggest for your household on the spot!
