John

John is a happy, cuddly young boy who loves all people and other dogs. And he especially loves toys! Give him a toy and he'll be excited to focus on this amazing toy. His favorites are ball and duck toys, but he loves all of them. He believes he's a lap dog and will jump in your lap with a toy so you can both enjoy it.

John is a couch cuddler who loves to say hello to people, snuggle and play with them and get their belly rubs. Now in foster, he follows his mom around the house and wants to be near her when she's doing laundry and cooking.

He also enjoys playing with her small dog. They love to chase each other, play tug-o-war and then lay down to rest with their toys. He likes going on neighborhood walks. He is improving with leash walking, only pulling on his leash when he's excited to see and sniff other dogs and the people he wants to meet.

At home, this smart boy is working on his obedience skills. He understands 'sit' and is making progress on 'down' and 'stay'. He's good at going in his crate and sleeps in it all night. He does well there when his foster is away, briefly barking and then snoozing. He's also making progress on his house-training, learning to go outside.

John is a calm, gentle, easygoing boy who should fit well in most homes. He will get along well with a dog buddy but will be happy just with parents.
