Meet Running Back, the shelter's star when it comes to energy and smarts! This playful pooch loves mastering the lure course, gnawing on chew sticks, and leading the pack on the jogging trail. He's also a regular at fitness sessions, where his boundless energy and quick learning make him a favorite. Running Back is the perfect companion for anyone with an active lifestyle looking for a furry friend to share in their adventures. He is a devoted and loving boy who is fully house-trained and does wonderfully in his crate when his people are away. Running Back is a champion cuddler who loves nothing more than snuggling up under a blanket, listening to some soothing white noise, and proudly parading his stuffed animals.

Running Back is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and rides like a gentleman in the car. Treats are his favorite training incentive (Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and pup-sicles? Yes, please!). He plays a mean game of tug, is a water-loving goofball – pool zoomies included, and has mastered “sit, shake, place, down, and wait.” He can be selective with animal friends but has potential to do well with a well-matched dog companion.

Adopt Running Back and gain not just a pet, but an enthusiastic partner for all your outdoor activities!

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

This pup is currently located at our Town Lake Animal Center (1156 W. Cesar Chavez, but use 1200 Reserve Road for mapping purposes). We'd love to show them off to you! To learn more about them, head in any day between 12:00PM - 6:00PM. We are open 7 days a week! Go to Building B and ask to speak with a Matchmaker about fostering this pup. You will sit down and discuss all we know about them and, if it's a good fit, get to meet them then! Please budget for a wait time unless you arrive right at opening as we cannot dictate walk-in traffic (wait times tend to be highest in the evenings and on weekends). If this pup ends up not being the best fit, we have so many other pups in need that we can suggest for your household on the spot!
