🥪 Meet Deli Ham — the sweetest little sandwich boy around! 🥪
Deli Ham may start off a bit shy, but give him a gentle voice, a few treats, and a little patience, and you’ll see his soft, wiggly heart peek right through. This adorable guy has been through a lot, but he’s blooming into a loving, people-oriented companion and surprising everyone with how much affection he has to give.
Once he trusts you, Deli Ham is full of sweetness—he’ll lean in, ask for pets, and even try to climb right into your lap for comfort. Volunteers describe him as wiggly, curious, and extremely endearing. He knows “sit,” takes treats politely, and is wonderfully potty trained. He LOVES greeting friendly faces and has even charmed our RunBuddy volunteers with joyful wiggles and soft snuggles.
On walks, Deli Ham has a lot of enthusiasm and can be a strong puller at first, but with consistency (and maybe some head-halter practice!) he settles into a nice rhythm. He’s done great walking past other dogs and even big, busy environments—no reactivity, just interest and curiosity from a safe distance.
In new places, he may pace or take a little time to settle, but his bravery grows with each positive interaction. With slow introductions, predictable routines, and people who let him go at his speed, Deli Ham is sure to continue coming out of his shell in the most heartwarming ways.

This pup is currently located at our Town Lake Animal Center (1156 W. Cesar Chavez, but use 1200 Reserve Road for mapping purposes). We'd love to show them off to you! To learn more about them, head in any day between 12:00PM - 6:00PM. We are open 7 days a week! Go to Building B and ask to speak with a Matchmaker about fostering this pup. You will sit down and discuss all we know about them and, if it's a good fit, get to meet them then! Please budget for a wait time unless you arrive right at opening as we cannot dictate walk-in traffic (wait times tend to be highest in the evenings and on weekends). If this pup ends up not being the best fit, we have so many other pups in need that we can suggest for your household on the spot!
