If you could describe May in four words, it would be cute, smart, proper, and loyal! This adorable lady gets along great with a 75lb pit bull in her foster home, and her beard is just precious. This crate-trained and house-trained gal has never had an accident in the house, and she really enjoys her daily walks. She is generally great on the leash, but can respond to some dogs but not others. She would definitely benefit from additional leash etiquette lessons. She also goes right in at the "kennel" command for a treat and is calm and quiet while inside, so you can rest easy while you are away on your errands. She will "sit, for treats, but won't always hold the sitting pose.

May would ideally love a low-traffic home with a human who is experienced with special dogs. We don't know everything about May's history, but she has a tendency to be mouthy, and would love a human who can continue training her on redirection. May can be a little wary and will come by her humans and seemingly ask for pets, but it's important to only engage in pets with her consent, especially when meeting new people.

An ideal home for May would be an adult only, low-traffic house with not many visitors, and with someone who is experienced at handling mouthy pups. She could also do well with another doggie friend that matches her energy. Come meet May, her beard will bring a smile to your face!

INTERESTED IN FOSTERING?

We are currently closed to the public and are only open by appointment (foster or adopter), but we are still diligently working to place dogs in foster homes! You can inquire about fostering a specific dog by submitting an inquiry through the dog's individual profile on this website or by emailing [email protected] to get more information about how to be matched with a foster dog.

Please do not visit our shelters without talking with us first. To prevent community spread, we cannot have large crowds gathering in our shelters.
